Providenciales Airport - The Weekend Photos

Here is a collection of photos from the weekend at Providenciales Airport. There was an addition of three more flights to the peak hours of 1 - 4 p.m. JetBlue with two flight and Continental with one. There are only five available stands now, while construction of additional parking stands are on the way.

Dornier Seastar - The Flying Boat

Seaplanes are making a comeback, thanks to the Dornier Seastar ALL-COMPOSITE amphibious flying boat. The Seastar CD 2 aircraft is powered by two inline Pratt & Whitney PT-6 turboprop engines. It features state-of-the-art cockpit avionics, exterior and interior design, layouts, accessories, and comfort systems.

Changing of Aircraft Call Sign

The authority to change the call sign of an aircraft resides with the air traffic controller in the interest of safety if there are two or more aircraft on the frequency with similar call signs. Here’s my experience and ICAO’s procedure on the subject.
